Hallo Cincideutsche,

Ein alter Brauch kommt nach Cincinnati! 🔥

In vielen Regionen Deutschlands, besonders im Norden, werden in der Nacht zum Ostersonntag die Osterfeuer entzündet. Traditionell gehört das Osterfeuer zum Brauchtum, mit dem auf dem Land der Frühling begrüßt wird. Später übernahm die Kirche diesen populären Brauch und deutete ihn christlich um.

Cincideutsch bringt diese Tradition nach Cincinnati – genauer gesagt nach Hamersville, auf die Farm unseres Mitglieds Roland Franke.

Wir treffen uns ab 16:00 Uhr zu einem geselligen Nachmittag und Abend auf dem Franke-Hof.

Kinder sind natürlich auch herzlich eingeladen! Es gibt eineTreckerfahrt auf dem „Heuwagen“.

Am Abend, bei Einbruch der Dunkelheit gegen 20:00 Uhr, werden wir dann gemeinsam das Osterfeuer entzünden. 🌙🔥

Mitzubringen:

Bitte bringt Klappstühle oder Camping Stühle und bringt Getränke und etwas zu essen oder ein Snack zum Teilen mit.

Es ist einen BBQ grill, falls Ihr etwas grillen möchtet.

Bitte meldet euch über RSVP an, damit wir besser planen können.

A German Tradition Comes to Cincinnati! 🔥

In many parts of Germany—especially in the north—large Easter bonfires are lit on the night before Easter Sunday. This long-standing tradition originally welcomed the arrival of spring in rural communities. Later, the church embraced the custom and gave it a Christian meaning as part of the Easter celebration.

Cincideutsch is bringing this tradition to the Cincinnati area!

We’ll gather in Hamersville at the farm of our member Roland Franke for a relaxed afternoon and evening together.

When: Starting at 4:00 PM

Come enjoy a casual get-together on the Frank-hoff with fellow Cincideutsche.

Kids are very welcome! There will also be a tractor ride on the hay wagon, which is always a highlight.

As the sun sets, around 8:00 PM, we’ll gather to light the traditional Easter bonfire together.

What to bring:

Please bring folding or camping chairs as well as drinks and a dish or snack to share with the group.

There will be a BBQ Grill available if you’d like to grill something.

Please RSVP so we can plan accordingly.

Directions: Turn at the yellow mailbox marked 2211 and follow the gravel road up the hill to the farm.
